This exciting new restaurant for Wagamama is located in the renowned Southgate precinct of Melbourne. The international noodle chain Wagamama demand that each of their restaurants provides a unique dining experience whilst still maintaining the brand style. Borrell Design turned to contrasting colours, stone, stainless steel and the warm timber for their most recent project in Southbank.
The design incorporates an open kitchen with informal dining area, with seating suitable for large parties or single diners. In order to attract customers the entry needed to make a strong statement. Oak paneling line the wall and ceiling in a striking diagonal design. The bar area was furnished with low oak tables with pendants and colour coordinated ottomans. The slatted timber feature ceiling is designed with acoustic lining to dampen the noise of a busy restaurant.
